The Nalanda Tradition, however, justifies sophisticated Buddhist philosophy on the basis of reason and logic. Here His Holiness referred to the British journalist Felix Greene, who came to visit him in Dharamsala in the 1970s. He said that in order to resolve the Tibetan problem, it is important that we have the understanding and support of the Chinese people so that they can understand our point of view. His Holiness also called on Tibetans living in areas that have Chinese communities to reach out to them.
